ACR Messina begin their league campaign with a win. On the opening matchday of Eccellenza Group B, the Giallorossi beat Augusta 1-0 at Stadio “Fontana” to claim the season’s first three points.
Ignacio Lucas Varela decided the match with a goal after just three minutes. The effective start immediately put Messina in control of the game and allowed the team to face the rest of the match from a favourable position.
The opening goal came from a free kick taken by Kragl. Blondett got a touch and extended the ball towards Varela, who finished successfully to put ACR Messina ahead.
After the goal, the Giallorossi continued to threaten. Burzio tested Lumia, while Pellegrino forced the Augusta goalkeeper into a save with a left-footed effort. The hosts remained in the match and tried to respond, but Messina’s defence kept control.
